George Kontrafouris Trio, Laurent Maur

The George Kontrafouris Trio, led by Greek jazz pianist George Kontrafouris, features Dinos Manos on double bass and Thanos Hatzianagnostou on drums. Known for their dynamic interpretations and contributions to the jazz scene, they have collaborated with French chromatic harmonica player Laurent Maur, celebrated for his mastery and improvisational skills. Their collaborative album, "Vin Doux," released in 2023, showcases a blend of mainstream jazz with unique harmonic and rhythmic explorations. The album includes tracks such as "Loup," "La valse des tricards," and "Ombre et lumière," highlighting the seamless interplay between the trio and Maur's harmonica. The official presentation of "Vin Doux" took place on April 5, 2024, at Jazzét Music Hall in Athens, marking a significant event in the jazz community. This collaboration reflects a long-standing musical relationship between Kontrafouris and Maur, dating back to 2008, and exemplifies their shared dedication to jazz innovation and expression.
