*200 copies limited edition* Los Angeles, 2019. Early days of October. The boys behind Ecovillage and Purl met for the first time in 3D. Their meeting in a city of dreams and dreamers seemed orchestrated by divine forces, just a few months before the world shut down. Everything seemed possible. The air was thick with magic and every day ripe with transformation, whether in heartfelt moments on stage, leaning over the edge into the unknown, or on spontaneous adventures such as a day-long hike in Joshua Tree that felt like some kind of pilgrimage, dissolving into the enormity of the landscape (and the overwhelming heat). This short time together was defined by a kind of childlike innocence—the sense of novelty and limitless discovery on the horizon the thread connecting every part. 

Crammed in a hot room in downtown Hollywood between live shows, the three Swedes exchanged sounds that in time became the primary grounds for the excavations of radiance that are collected and summarised in ‘Fragments of Light’. The album finally found its frame in 2023 when Ludvig (Purl) was traversing Sri Lanka on a train, while Emil and Peter (Ecovillage) were somewhat more securely anchored in the northern part of the artists’ native homeland. Their shared process of uncovering and refining all the pieces continued for years across different continents and emotional states.

Despite so far not crossing paths again in the 3D world, the boys maintain their connection and the creative flame they share is burning bright. Being passionate and strong-willed artists, they hope that the arduous journeys undertaken to reach consensus has pushed these creations into a state of refinement they wouldn't reach without the pressure of three minds and hearts attempting to align. Analogous to the pressures within the crust of the Earth producing crystals and diamonds, the forces of three powerful individuals polished these songs into the jewels they are. At the end of the road to here, Ecovillage and Purl wishes that those who explore the result of their seven year-long excavation can connect with the timeless sense of awe that gave rise to the whole adventure, uncovering and reuniting the ‘Fragments of Light’.
