1972 re-issue on Radio Canada International of the 1969 album.

condition (record/cover): EX / VG+ (genral wear and stamp on back)

The only official recording the group ever made, and one of the scarcest documents of Canadian free jazz in existence. Formed in Montreal in 1967, Le Quatuor De Jazz Libre Du Québec took Ornette and Ayler as a starting point and attached the music to the politics of post-Quiet Revolution Quebec with total seriousness: they founded an artists' commune, they played colleges and bars across the province, and they treated improvisation as a means of actual social change rather than a metaphor for one. Jean Préfontaine on tenor and Yves Charbonneau on trumpet drive it, with Pierre Nadeau joining on piano for this session.

Radio Canada International pressing, 1968. Radio transcription issue, never sold commercially, and consequently very hard to find.
