The record compiles two decades of Lewin-Richter’s pioneering experimental work, blending pure electronic sounds with acoustic instrumentation. Fontecilla Mix II (1978) and Baschetiada (1980), which utilizes the unique Lasry-Baschet sound sculptures. Densidades, and Estudio I & II (1963-64), which date back to his time at the influential Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center. Artistic Collaboration: The album cover features artwork by Ernesto Fontecilla, a painter with whom Lewin-Richter frequently collaborated. It was issued as part of a pair of separate LPs by Hemisferio; the other, Anna Ricci Interpreta Obras De Andrés Lewin-Richter, focused on his works for voice. Born in 1937, Lewin-Richter was a student of Vladimir Ussachevsky and a co-founder of the Phonos Foundation in Barcelona, which became a hub for electroacoustic research in Spain.
