Tip! **50 numbered copies** "Kyle Quass is a composer, trumpet player and sound artist based in Bloomington, Indiana. He holds a MM in Jazz Studies from Indiana University. He has studied, played, and/or collaborated with, among many others, David Baker, Joe Henderson, Greg Osby, Mulgrew Miller, Tyshawn Sorey, Thollem, Tim Berne, Tony Malaby, Ralph Alessi and Cory Smythe. He has performed on numerous and varied recordings from David Baker to Amy Stephens to Murder By Death. He has also released many recordings on his own label, most of which can be purchased at his Bandcamp site. His latest recordings on his own label are Darkness Made Light and Rise Against, both recorded in August of 2017. His newest recording Contrary Motion, recorded in Fall of 2019, is released March 13th, 2020 on Orphanology / Bluesanct."

This recording is rooted in collage, cut up, and indeterminacy and draws inspiration from Dada, William Burroughs and John Cage. Much of the specific musical material was influenced by and is dedicated to Paul Motian. This music is the documentation of live performances utilizing Ableton Live, Trumpet, and effects pedals.
