Gian Stellari wrote the music for peplum films in the early sixties (Maciste, giants, gladiators) and then went quiet, at least on record, for twenty years. He resurfaced in 1982 with this: an album composed, so the sleeve says, for Symbol, an international magazine "for the friends of Rolls-Royce, Ferrari and Riva." The music is a Lombard composer's fantasy of Manhattan at cocktail hour, a synthesizer and orchestra travelogue with the glossy, slightly wrong sheen of Italian television at the time.

It sits on the same shelf as the Volvo record: music commissioned by luxury and now beloved by people who could never afford the product. Private-label Gipsy pressing, one of ten catalogue numbers the label managed. An artefact of Milan in the year of the paninari.
