Orange Vinyl. Limited to only 150 copies. Anroid Sisters’s Songs of Electronic Despair is a cult classic of experimental synth-pop and cosmic satire, reissued by Wah Wah Records in a lovingly restored edition. Conceived by audio visionary Thomas M. Lopez (aka Meatball Fulton), founder of the ZBS Foundation, the Android Sisters originated as characters in the acclaimed sci-fi audio drama Ruby the Galactic Gumshoe, blending noir, comedy, and science fiction into a unique radio universe.

Inspired by Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, the Android Sisters-voiced by Ruth Maleczech and Valeria Wasilewski-became icons of “cosmic and comic” social commentary. Their debut album, originally released in 1984 on cassette and LP, features 11 tracks (plus two bonus tracks on this Wah Wah reissue) written by Lopez and experimental composer Tim Clark. Clark’s Synclavier II synthesizer backdrops provide a futuristic, playful counterpoint to Lopez’s surreal and satirical texts, delivered in the Sisters’ unmistakably robotic yet strangely sensual voices.

Songs of Electronic Despair is a witty, subversive journey through the anxieties and absurdities of modern life, refracted through a sci-fi lens. Wah Wah’s reissue includes the original artwork, two bonus tracks, and a full-color insert with notes and lyrics, making this a must-have for fans of electronic experimentation, radio art, and outsider pop.

A rare opportunity to experience a visionary blend of storytelling, satire, and synthesizers-rediscover The Android Sisters and their singular world of electronic despair.
