Keith Rowe
Keith Rowe is an English guitarist and painter, born in Plymouth on 16 March 1940. Trained as a visual artist, he played jazz with Mike Westbrook in the early 1960s, then co-founded AMM in the mid-1960s with Eddie Prévost and Lou Gare, soon joined by Cornelius Cardew. In AMM he began laying the guitar flat on a table and working its strings and pickups with motors and bows. He left the group for the second time in 2004. Since the late 1990s he has recorded mostly for Erstwhile, including Duos for Doris (2003) with John Tilbury, and he co-founded MIMEO.

Shifting Currents
The recordings for the piece were gathered over the course of a year from Huddersfield, Stirling, Aberdeen (United Kingdom), and s’Hertogenbosch (The Netherlands).
