Machinefabriek

Machinefabriek is the project of Dutch musician, sound artist and graphic designer Rutger Zuydervelt (born 1978), based in Rotterdam. He started in 2004 with self-released CD-Rs in sleeves of his own design, having studied graphic design rather than music. His work moves between drone, electroacoustic composition, field recordings, noise and lowercase sound, and over the 2010s it increasingly turned to scores for film, documentary, dance and games. His first proper album, Marijn, came out on Lampse in 2006, and the double CD Weleer collected early material in 2007.
