Magda Mayas
Magda Mayas, born in 1979, is a German pianist and composer-performer based in Berlin. Over twenty-five years she has developed a vocabulary that uses both the keyboard and the interior of the piano, with amplification, preparations and objects that become extensions of the instrument, and she also plays the clavinet and other electric keyboards in the same exploratory spirit. Her techniques draw on the history of prepared and inside-piano playing but are highly individual, expanding the language of internal piano music.
