Heimat Der Katastrophe presents "Can You Defeat the Ruler of the Tower of Terror?" by Tragacorgios.

"In your fourth year at the Academy of the Grand Wizard Eleutheria, you are becoming bored. You have learned a great deal of magic, of the power of reason, and the martial arts. Now you yearn for a challenge.

You have heard stories of the town of Darkblood, to the East, apparently ruled over by a great but very evil Wizard. You recall that Eleutheria had spoken briefly only once about this Wizard, saying that he was powerful and terrible, and almost the equal of Eleutheria himself. For the Ruler of Darkblood had once been one of the Grand Wizards, but had been exiled when he used his magic and power to plunder whole townships and steal treasure. Now he lives in a building in the Darkblood called Tower of Terror.

That night, you pack your book of spells, enough food and drink for five meals, and you decide to journey to Darkblood. What will you find in that cursed city, a den of wickedness and corruption? It's time to find out..."

Proteus, a magazine released in the UK from 1984 to 1988, published a whole interactive adventure to play in each issue: they were naive dungeon explorations, treasure searches full of sense of bizarre, weird riddles and absurd monsters. Proteus's adventures weren't masterpieces, but they were fun and damn difficult: there were often dozens of objects to necessarily find to complete the quest and defeat the final monster, and most of the time the decisive one was missing; furthermore, it was essential to draw maps ogf the dungeons in order not to get lost in the paragraphs, but these maps often... did not add up.
