** Few available. All pantone offset printed glossycovers, pantone printed insert. **Prepare to be transported by Discorde, the mesmerizing debut LP from Megabasse-the solo alias of Pierre Bujeau, acclaimed guitarist of Tanz Mein Herz and Omertà. This highly anticipated repress, strictly limited to 300 copies, comes housed in stunning Pantone offset-printed glossy covers with a matching Pantone insert-a collector’s dream, crafted with the same meticulous care as the music within. Recorded in 2019, Discorde unfolds across two expansive tracks, each elegantly occupying a full side of vinyl. The A-side, “à la Chapelle Sainte-Anne de Bricquebec,” was captured within the sacred, resonant walls of a Normandy chapel, while the B-side, “au Hangar à Dirigeables d’Ecausseville,” resonates in the cavernous vastness of a historic airship hangar. These contrasting locations are not mere backdrops, but integral to the album’s sonic identity-amplifying the modal, drone-infused guitar figures and enveloping them in natural reverb and atmospheric depth

Bujeau’s approach is both minimal and majestic: plaintive, repeating string motifs stretch into the horizon, gathering momentum, reaching crescendos, and then dissipating into shimmering overtones and spectral echoes. The guitar becomes an orchestra of bells, a burst of radio static, a flock of swallows under the roof-transforming space into sound and sound into space. As Tom Houghton (All Night Flight) eloquently puts it, “Wherever you were, you find yourself transported elsewhere.”

Discorde invites deep listening, rewarding attention to its subtle variations and immersive textures. While echoing the explorations of minimalists like Kali Malone and Sarah Davachi, Bujeau forges his own path-eschewing the organ for a multi-neck guitar, and exploring the liminal spaces between sacred and profane, melancholy and transcendence. The result is a record that captures the essence of drone: not in dissonance, but in the meditative quality and intensity of sound shaped by place and presence. A portal to elsewhere.
