The invitation to open the windows is a tribute to the inclusive approach of much of the avant-garde of the last century, starting from Satie's Furniture Music, through Russolo's Art of Noises, up to Cage 4'33". Manifesto/container of the project, battimenti di scrittura mista [Mixed Handwriting] sums up the concepts developed in the whole work. Melody and noise, micro-pauses and temperament, suspension and rhythm alternate in a kaleidoscope of colours gradually enriching as it develops. The harmonic-melodic opening bars of harmonium and vocals are not limited to a purely tonal and well-tempered environment. Better said, tonality and temperament, explicit in the final resumption of the harmonic series of ffrr, are gradually reached from the micro-pauses used at the beginning. Typewritten pages torn off afterwards are all around and seem to hold a dialogue with close and far away voices, distorted guitars shatter the main harmonization of the record (ffrr) and alternate different kinds of concretism (a game of Basque pelota, irrintzi - i.e. a traditional Basque mountain cry used for calling in the mountains). The final organized chaos encompasses rough sonorities, atonalities and a nihilistic drone sweeping everything away. A game in the form of a tribute to randomness was the composition starting point for track EAReNOW. One minute and a half of recording material, recorded separately and with no previous agreements. No one knew what the others had accomplished, no compass to guide you tonally, harmonically nor rhythmically: duration remained the only known element. The result was achieved through the overlapping of the different takes.
