Teenage Panzerkorps have been playing during these last ten years their unique and special kraut-punk that continues the musical tradition of Neu! and Kraftwerk. They have already produced two lps and lots of eps and singles that offer us lots of interesting songs to hear.
German Reggae”, Panzerkorps’ new effort, is, in my opinion, their best album so far. This album is full of early post-punk rhythms and krautrock melodies. It reminds me of the genre’s most notable bands such as Savage Republic, Neu! and Fall. The first thing that you notice in this album is the rhythm section: drums that make you move into their rhythm and bass that hypnotizes you. Bunker Wolf’s vocals are the best vocals that you can have in an album like this one. It’s like listening to the German speaking version of Mark E. Smith, on the other hand the production gives the songs an atmospheric, noisy and dark tone.

Overall, “German Reggae” is a minimalist album with kraut-punk anthems that you want to listen from the beggining till the end. Panzerkorps, in only 30 minutes, produce an album that revives the golden period of German Krautrock and English post punk. (noizine)
