Each of the 18 parts of this Here Comes Everything is a single long improvisation, named after one of the 18 chapters of Ulysses. James Joyce's schema for Ulysses – an 18-row chart he devised to help his friends navigate the labyrinth of each chapter's themes and references - is the structure on which Pascoe & Martin's far-reaching musical epic is based. Here Comes Everything is the saga of two contradictory musical characters in their search for meaning and for each other. Chris Martin's piano is elevated, ravishing, and rapturous. Derek Pascoe's cabbalistic saxophone is sensual and profane.
