While rock-music of the 70’s and 80’s became a worldwide mainstream corporate business the creation of the cassette format and a network in the late 70’s opened music production up to everyone and a DIY Indie scene sprung up which enabled musicians to release their recordings they had already produced during the early to late 70’s.

This Vinyl-Box and the accompaning 48 page lp-Sized booklet tells the story behind some of the major influencial artists and their earliest recordings produced during the 70’s and early 80’s, about the labels and the relevant press covering those cassette-recordings. This Box is about those artists and people that planted the seed for an independent culture to develope throughout the 80’s and still active until today. It also tells the story of Archie Patterson’s Eurock Magazine & Distribution, a most influential US-cassette distribution company which distributed and/or released many of the artist’s early Cassette-works contained in this box.
