Rare 1979 unofficial re-issue with different cover of the 1970 very experimental and singular partly free jazz debut solo LP by Soft Machine drummer and vocalist.

condition (record/cover): EX- (marks not affecting play) / VG+ (dirt on white parts)

A Gil Evans tune frames Robert Wyatt's first solo album: Las Vegas Tango Part 1 opens side one in a version marked (Repeat) and returns at the end of side two for eleven minutes. Wyatt made the record in London in August 1970, while still the drummer of Soft Machine, and CBS released it that December.

He plays drums, piano, organ and harmonica, and his voice works as an instrument, without words. The other titles are dedications to friends, among them To Nick Everyone, To Caravan And Brother Jim and To Carla, Marsha And Caroline (For Making Everything Beautifuller). The players come from the Canterbury scene and London free jazz: Elton Dean on alto saxophone and saxello, Mark Charig on cornet, Dave Sinclair of Caravan on organ, Neville Whitehead on bass, Mark Ellidge on piano and Cyrille Ayers on percussion.
