River of Return
The long lost album 'River Of Return' of the German Krautrock legend Agitation Free. It was a reunion of the band after 25 years of abstinence with some original members.  Already the first sounds show that the Krautrock style still exists, but the music and the production is light years ahead, which is reflected in the very mature production. As on the early albums, the quartet consisting of Gustl Lütjens, Michael Günther, Lutz Ulbrich and Burghard Rausch offers a mixture of different styles. T…
Carnival In Babylon
Originally released in 1972, 'Carnival in Babylon' has always lived in the shade of the sprawling Yeti and Dance of the Lemmings collections, but in many ways it is a more consistent and coherent document of the Amon Duul at their peak.
Horrortrip In The Paperhouse
The first five tracks on this Can release of dubious authenticity were taken from the famous Can free concert in Cologne, Germany, on February 3, 1972. This is the audio from the same concert documented by the video item of the out of print Can Box set, and the audio quality is quite good and the performances are outstanding. On these tracks, the group locks into one long, propulsive groove after another, blending minimalism with improvisation. Whereas "Spoon" and "Paperhouse" diverge quite a bi…
Acnalbasac Noom
Acnalbasac Noom -- meant to be the German-English-American avant-pop group Slapp Happy's second album -- was originally recorded in 1973 but did not see release originally until 1980. Recorded with legendary German art-rock group Faust accompanying the Slapp Happy core of Anthony Moore on keyboards, Peter Blegvad on guitar, and Dagmar Krause on vocals, and with Faust's brilliant producer Uwe Nettelbeck at the helm, Acnalbasac Noom was initially rejected by the group's label Polydor as not being …
Threshold
Since 2013, Dhidalah has hailed from the Tokyo underground as a space rock power trio. The band name derives from the Japanese legend of the Giant Gods — known as the creators of mountains, lakes and islands. Dhidalah plays improvisational music performances inspired by various genres from stoner / doom to kraut rock. Their first EP No Water was released by Guruguru Brain in 2017. The EP was internationally acclaimed, resulting in two shows at the 2018 Roadburn Festival as their first European d…
SWF Session 1973
Long Hair is not only proud to present Tortilla Flat`s legendary sole album „Für ein ¾ Stündchen“, on vinyl, but also the groups a lot more legendary broadcast sessions for Germany`s leading underground and Krautrock program on radio SWF (look for the further recordings in this series on LongHair). The mainly instrumental album is very flute and in opposite to the latter album electric violin driven, with very exciting guitar playing accompanied by a rocking drumming and nimble bass lines, very …
Pieces + Secrets of the Blue Bag
The two groundbreaking Anthony Moore LPs in bundle at a special price. **500 copies** Over the last few years, we’ve seen countless reissues emerge with the branding of “holy grail”. Some have deserved it, other have not. Needless to say, here at SoundOhm, we’re increasingly wary of throwing these words around, but the two albums before us, Anthony Moore’s Pieces From a Cloudland Ballroom, from 1971, and Secrets of the Blue Bag, issued the following year, deserve them with little doubt. Creative…
Fur Ein 3/4 Stundchen
Long Hair proudly presents one of the most sought after German albums of the early seventies, now for the first time officially re-released on LP: Tortilla Flat's 'Für Ein 3/4 Stündchen', originally recorded in winter 1974 and released in early 1975 as a private pressing. The instrumental album is very flute and electric piano driven, with very exciting guitar playing accompanied by rocking drumming with slightly jazzy influences and nimble bass lines, very tight! Music is very unique, not typic…
Nosferatu
2010 Release. Originally issued in 1970, Nosferatu is band’s sole album is a highlight of early Krautrock, and it remains a lively testimonial of the fledgling German music scene of the time, which was steadily moving away from its Anglo-American role-models to create an independent sound that the English initially and somewhat disparagingly called Krautrock, but which eventually came to be a seal of quality.  A band somewhat shrouded in mystery, perhaps maintaining what little attention they st…
Outside The Dream Syndicate
Tony Conrad and Faust’s classic minimalist totem drones on in a new edition presented by the brilliant Superior Viaduct reissue label. A masterpiece for dreams
Pieces From The Cloudland Ballroom
**500 copies** Pieces From the Cloudland Ballroom is the first solo LP by Anthony Moore, originally on Polydor. It was released in 1971 under the production of Uwe Nettlebeck and featured Anthony Moore on conduction, Ulf Kenklies, Glyn Davenport and Gieske Hof-Helmers on vocals, plus Werner 'Zappa' Diermeier on hi-hat. Moore is best known as a founder of the progressive rock band Slapp Happy but has also written lyrics for Pink Floyd (!)Pure minimalist experimentation with echoes of Richard Youn…
With Dim Light
**2019 stock** Minami Deutsch is back at it again with their latest LP entitled With Dim Light. Whilst softening their sound and cushioning the blow, you can expect a more profound diversity in their sound, whilst retaining the principle ingredients that make them so great such as their signature fuzz, thumping bass and dream like vocals. There is a heavier experimentation in regards to genre exploration. With hints of post punk and nods to late 60s psychedelic rock, this shows that Minami Deuts…
Minami Deutsch
**2019 stock** Minami Deutsch was formed by Kyotaro Miula (guitar, vocals, synthesizer) in Tokyo in 2014. Their sound is influenced by both their love for Krautrock legends such as Can and Neu!, and the band members being self-professed "repetition freaks" who heavily listen to minimal techno. The music proceeds straightforwardly with the Motorik beat (Hammer beat), devised by Klaus Dinger (Kraftwerk, Neu!), as its central axis. Humorous, yet bizarre Japanese lyrics are whispered over a hard, co…
Hyperthalamus
This is the first official reissue on vinyl of ultra rare legendary album "Hyperthalamus" of Hamburg group Dennis. Dennis were a kind of session group including a collection of musicians from Tomorrow´s Gift, Thirsty Moon, Xhol, playing free-rock to enthusiastic festival goers (according to A crack in the cosmic egg). Leading member was Frumpy drummer Carsten Bohn (the band was namedafter his son). But keyboarder Manne Rürup (of Tomorrow´s Gift fame), Michael Kobs and Willi Pape (of Thirsty Moon…
Conditions of the Gas Giant
Bureau B present a reissue of Conrad Schnitzler's Conditions of the Gas Giant, originally released on cassette in 1988. The Berlin artist first released these recordings on a small American cassette label. Admirers of the seminal artist Conrad Schnitzler can be found all over the planet, including the USA, of course. Matt Howarth, illustrator and independent comic artist, is one of them. He has been following Schnitzler's music since the early 1970s whilst drawing offbeat science fiction stories…
Monster Movie - Live At Burg Nörvenich, 25th July 1969
Recorded live in July 1969 during the same sessions that gave birth to their classic debut album Monster Movie. The album contains rawer versions of classics tracks such as Yoo Doo Right and Outside My Door. This was Can at the very beginning of their career, before they would become widely known as one of the 70's Krautrock most iconic bands. A full catalogue of minimal grooves and extended song forms that would influence generations to come. Holger Czukay - bass, Jacki Liebezeit - drums, Micha…
Thirsty Moon
2019 restock. This is Thirsty Moon's first album on the famous German label Brain, originally released in 1972. Included in the in the infamous The Nurse With Wound List, created in 1979, became a common touch point for several generations of experimental and underground. This album truly is a jewel of German progressive rock. The seven band members used elements of jazz as a means of spontaneous expressions and blended them with the aggression and rhythm of rock! Comparisons with Kollektiv and …
Live In Germany 25 June 1971
1975 was a turning point year for Kraftwerk and this live set from Koeln is a fine document of the band's live shows of the period. The album opens with an epic sidelong version of the previous year's big hit "Autobahn", their first lucky experiment with highly repetitive electronic structure, they would become known for later, and it also includes a fine rendition of "Ruckzuck", a classic tune from their 1970 first album. This is highly futuristic German Musik of the Seventies at its best.
Doko E. Live In Cologne 1973
Recorded in 1973 at Inner Space Studios during the "Future Days" sessions , this album contains the full lenght performance of "Doko E" a track which appeared on the “Limited Edition” LP.  But where the original release gave us only a two and a half minute version, here you can get the whole 40 minutes. A solid and energetic session from the Can classic line up featuring Holger Czukay, Michael Karoli, Irmin Schmidt, Jaki Liebezeit and "Damo" Suzuki. Highly recommended for both Can completists an…
Epitaph For Venus
From the moment it emerged during the mid 90’s, mystery has swirled around Galactic Explorers’ sole LP - Epitaph for Venus. Released by the Psi-Fi imprint as a long lost Krautrock gem from the mythical Pyramid label’s archives - said to be have been recorded by Toby Robinson in Cologne circa 1972/73, it has been loved by many, while others have cried hoax. Some ventured further, implicating none other than Genesis P. Orridge as the creator. The truth isn’t publicly known, but the foggy origins p…
