Lindwurm were formed in 1972 in Uelzen and played a somewhat rough-edged progressive rock. The reference to Hanover, which you sometimes come across, is not accurate. Nor should they be confused with the jazz-rock group of the same name from Jork-Moorende on the Lower Elbe (LP Im Windschatten, 1981). In 1976, the much-loved Lindwurm singer and guitarist Klaus Arndt was struck by a car on the motorway and killed. The band dissolved immediately and, in his memory, released an LP that is now priceless, featuring recordings with him from the rehearsal room. Limited to only 100 copies. The 2026 LP reissue includes an additional track from the sampler LP Nordlandfestival ’76 in Lüneburg, a poster, and an eight-page booklet.

The Garden of Delights label recovers and restores half-forgotten recordings from the world of progressive rock in all its different shades—ranging from psychedelic to fusion to blues rock—provided that they contain progressive elements. In its original sense, “progressive” means that these recordings were ahead of their time and did not follow the prevailing trends. Almost inevitably, this meant that only a small circle of people knew about them. Most of these releases came out in the 1970s in very small runs, on LPs that are practically unaffordable today. These long-lost collector’s items are now being made available on CD by Garden of Delights. In addition to the expensive remastering, special importance has been placed on producing lavish, substantial CD booklets that include everything worth knowing about the artists (as well as many rare photos), all drawn from German-speaking countries.

The Garden of Delights label has set itself the task of making available on high-quality, newly issued CDs—at affordable prices—almost forgotten recordings of so-called “progressive rock,” primarily from the German-speaking world, in all its variations, from psychedelic to fusion to blues rock, as long as progressive elements are present. The term “progressive rock” refers to recordings that were ahead of their time and did not orient themselves to the fashions of the day. Most of these recordings were distributed in the 1970s in small editions, on LPs that are hardly affordable today. These choice items are now offered by Garden of Delights on CD. In addition, every Garden of Delights CD comes with an extensive booklet containing detailed background information, as well as, in some cases, previously unreleased photos and items. All CDs have been prepared according to the latest technical standards and remastered.
