HP Lovecraft

Cosmic Rock is thrilled to announce the long-awaited reissue of H.P. Lovecraft, the seminal debut album by the American psychedelic rock band H.P. Lovecraft. Originally released in October 1967 by Philips Records, this cult classic returns to vinyl, restoring its haunting, eerie ambiance for a new generation of psych explorers.

Blending psychedelic and folk rock influences, H.P. Lovecraft draws direct inspiration from the cosmic horror tales of author H.P. Lovecraft—the band's namesake. The album shines with the unmistakable vocal interplay of George Edwards and Tony Michaels, delivering spine-tingling harmonies backed by deft folk touches, jazz flourishes, and sultry horn arrangements. Tracks like "That's How It Is," "The White Ship," and "I've Got Trouble" capture the era's otherworldly vibe, making it one of the finest second-division psychedelic records—timeless, immersive, and endlessly replayable.

This album was a hidden treasure even in its own time. Its literary-inspired dread and innovative soundscapes influenced countless psych acts. We're proud to bring it back with meticulous remastering, faithful gatefold artwork, and heavyweight 180g vinyl to honor its legacy.
