Irrational Rhythms and Shifting Poles is an ongoing project by Chris Pitsiokos for saxophone and laptop, built on four-channel audio, subjective listening, rhythms generated by irrational numbers and shifts of polarity. This 10" is the first record to document it.
Pitsiokos keeps to abstraction and minimalism, reducing the saxophone to four families of sound (slap, high glissando, air and long tones) and working them into three pieces, Nebula, Air and 172. He wrote, recorded and mixed the music himself across the winter, spring and summer of 2023.
Digital master by Lasse Marhaug, vinyl mastered and cut by Paul Gold at Salt Mastering.
Limited edition 10" vinyl, each copy with an original artwork by Chris Pitsiokos.
