Second solo alto saxophone album for Relative Pitch, eight pieces named after rocks, recorded in January 2022.
Art of the Alto is the second solo saxophone album by Chris Pitsiokos for Relative Pitch. Where Speak in Tongues paid tribute to his forebears on the horn, this one stakes his own place among them, in eight pieces named after rocks: Dolomite, Basalt, Feldspar, Gabbro, Shale, Obsidian, Sandstone and Anthracite.
