On One Foot on the Ground Smoking Mirror Shakedown, CP Unit, led by saxophonist and composer Chris Pitsiokos, generates structure and content in real time. With him are Sam Lisabeth (Guerilla Toss) on electric guitar, Henry Fraser on electric bass and Jason Nazary on drums and electronics.

Leaving behind the tightly composed math and prog elements of earlier albums, each of the four pieces grows from a handful of ideas and moves from soulful melody to noise, with traces of noise rock, musique concrète, psychedelic rock and Ornette Coleman's harmolodic funk. Recorded at Seizures Palace in Brooklyn on August 12, 2018, mixed and mastered by Ryan Power.
