*2026 stock* Staruha Mha (Старуха Мха) of 2001-2004. Controversial, but certainly one of the most interesting, significant and at the same time little-known Russian dark ambient-industrial projects. The only person behind this is Roman Sidorov (6/02/1974 - 20/09/2003), in whose fate creative research, unfortunately, played an unsuccessful and decisive role. Roman, even many years after his king remains one of the most mysterious and respected musicians in all of modern dark ambient/industrial, and his famous project "Staruha Mha" does not fit into the framework of any direction - it is a separate, unique part of world music...

"Music desperately strives to grasp the meaning of the fundamental principle of things, slowly leading the listener through the labyrinths of the enchanted forest from a child's dream. It does not wag its tail or show off, and does not need aesthetic justification. Here, everything breathes the smells of last year's withered leaves, melting snow, the flow of spring waters, the creaking of trees in the wind, the smoke of forest fires. Roman's nature comes out full of secrets and mysteries. The theme of loneliness cries out in every echo, in every rustling sound. That is why the main mood of "Fires" is melancholy, bordering on outright depression. The music does not frighten, it alerts and fixes in a state of thoughtful vigilance. " - Stereo&Video/Nikolay Kiryukhin

"The crackling of a fire and the rustling of branches. Falling leaves. Wind and splashing water. Light, almost airy overtones and heavy oppressive hum. Human voices and monotonous rhythm. On this record you can find a wide variety of sounds and moods: from serenity and meditative detachment from reality to a feeling of anxiety and fear of the unknown. " - Darkside/Tra6head
