*100 copies limited edition* Maurizio Abate is an Italian guitarist who has been active since the early 2000s, known for his experimental and instinctive approach to music. His sonic exploration spans electroacoustic improvisation, ambient music, and psychedelic experimentation, with a particular fondness for stringed instruments. Since 2006, he has released numerous albums both as a solo artist and in collaborative projects, working with artists such as Kawabata Makoto (Acid Mother Temple), John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), and Takehisa Kosugi, and contributing to more than 30 albums released by international independent labels.

Sacre Stanze, Maurizio Abate’s new album, stems from his desire to write songs to be entrusted to Marco Giudici (Any Other, Halfalib) for the arrangements, and from his wish to involve other musicians to perform the instrumental parts.

It is not just an album; it is an invitation to rediscover silence through sound. Unlike previous works, conceived as self-produced projects—an immediate crystallization of creative urgency—Sacre Stanze required patience, detached observation, and continuous dialogue. The album is the result of a collective effort. In an era dominated by algorithms that churn out thirty-second snippets, Sacre Stanze throws down the gauntlet. It is an album that demands listening methods now considered obsolete. Sacre Stanze cannot be listened to while doing something else. It requires darkness, or at least the shutting out of the outside world. Each musician who contributed to the album left a unique and distinctive mark, some through original musical ideas, others through their virtuosic playing on their respective instruments: Lucia Gasti, Marco Giudici, Agnese Banti, Francesca Saracino, Francesca Stella Riva, Valeria Sturba, Ambra Canevari, Adriano Sangineto, Alberto Boccardi.
