On Uchuu, Oowets drifts into their most abstract work yet, blending tapped cloth boxes, reed organ warmth and bedside field recordings into a gentle, cosmic meditation where minimal rhythms and environmental sounds merge science and nature into a single, weightless drift.

Uchuu (Space) marks a turning point in Oowets' trajectory, pushing their sound toward a level of abstraction and intimacy that feels both deeply personal and quietly cosmic. Across nine tracks, the album functions less as a collection of songs and more as a guided drift through inner sensations and a connection to the universe - a gentle, unhurried journey that evokes walking through a forest or floating among clouds. The music is spare but richly textured, built from minimal rhythms created by editing the sounds of tapping on cloth boxes, wood and stones, then layering them with piano, synthesizer and the warm, nostalgic tones of a reed organ. What emerges is a sound world that feels handmade and fragile, yet spacious enough to hold entire atmospheres.

During the album's production, Oowets discovered a unique approach to melody by blending environmental sounds with synthesizer tones, creating what they describe as a mysterious hybrid where science and nature merge into one. This technique gives Uchuu its distinctive character: tones that seem to shimmer between the organic and the electronic, where a field recording might dissolve into a synth pad or a piano note might be colored by the rustle of fabric or the distant hum of a room. Tracks like "In Bed," which incorporates the raw sounds of a morning recorded right from the bedside, exemplify this approach - turning the everyday into something quietly transcendent, revealing how the rituals of daily life are intimately connected to the vast, impersonal universe beyond the window.

The result is a soothing, meditative album that invites deep listening without demanding it. Uchuu works equally well as a backdrop for quiet reflection or as an immersive sonic environment to get lost inside. Minimal rhythms tap and shuffle like distant footsteps, reed organ chords breathe in and out like slow lungs, synthesizers hover and drift like light through leaves. There's a sense throughout of Oowets stepping back from more conventional song structures to explore pure atmosphere and texture, letting sounds speak for themselves without needing to resolve into hooks or choruses. In doing so, Uchuu becomes both the most abstract and the most grounded work in their catalogue - a record that finds the cosmic in the quotidian, and reminds us that space is not just something far away, but something we move through every moment of our lives.
