**130 copies. Art Edition** Carles Santos was a multi-disciplinary artist, perhaps best known outside of Spain as a composer of scores for his lifelong collaborator, radical Catalan filmmaker Pere Portabella. Made in 1970 during the final years of Franco’s dictatorship, Vampir-Cuadecuc is an astonishingly creative assault on the regime and, arguably, Portabella’s most influential work. Filmed behind the scenes during the production of Jesús Franco’s Count Dracula (1970), Vampir-Cuadecuc is a highly experimental deconstruction of the illusions of narrative cinema, and, by extension, the political deceptions of government. Banned after completion, Vampir Cuadecuc remains a provocative, subversive and surreal experience. An abstract, fabulously idiosyncratic soundscape.

The record is produced on 180 gram vinyl and released in an edition of only 130 hand-numbered and handmade copies; there will never ever be a repress. The record comes with two custom inners and a screen-printed plastic outer (sealed).
Each copy also comes with an 'insert your own silence' CD from the film's soundtrack, and two riso printed insert / posters, featuring Christopher Lee (who also performs on the record) and Soledad Miranda. Original liner notes authored by Jonathan Rosenbaum.
