A Japanese direct-mail box, the kind sold through newspaper coupons in the seventies: ten discs of EMI easy listening, Franck Pourcel, Manuel and His Music of the Mountains, Georges Jouvin's trumpet, Claude Ciari's guitar, the Hollyridge Strings, George Shearing, Ray Anthony, Jackie Gleason, Bud Shank. The World Music Club was the outlet; the repertoire is the whole postwar Capitol and Pathé catalogue arranged by mood, evening by evening.
