Lummer is the Swedish name for the now protected family of vascular plants (Clubmoss/Lycopodiaceae). Lummer grows slowly and the spores with which it reproduces can take 12—20 years to develop. These spores, known as Nikt in Swedish, were once ground into an extremely flammable light yellow “old woman’s gunpowder” that was used for early theatrical pyrotechnics. Futuro Ancestrale, the ensemble around saxophonist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Giuseppe Doronzo, was born from the idea to combine contemporary improvisation and non-western music traditions. In Elsewhen, electronics play a central role along with ancestral instruments borrowed from Chinese, Albanian or Chadian traditions. Doronzo's concept of convoking those sounds and cultures in the same musical space is a way to celebrate, and to create a vibrant dialogue between histories.

First album in IT DEEL, a multi-year project by the Kleefstra Bros (Jan Kleefstra on poetry, Romke Kleefstra on guitar) with Popfabryk, addressing the ecological degradation of Frisian nature. Each volume is composed in residency at the Thomaskerk in Katlijk and presented live before pressing. Volume I is built with Polish composer Michał Jacaszek, whose electro-acoustic vocabulary surrounds Jan Kleefstra's Frisian-language spoken word with ambient and drone landscapes.

Second volume in the IT DEEL project. The Kleefstra Bros invited Norwegian duo Streifenjunko (Eivind Lønning on trumpet/electronics, Espen Reinertsen on sax/electronics) into the Thomaskerk in Katlijk, composing between improv, jazz and sound art. The exhibition, "Old Instruments From the Future, New Instruments From the Past  (and  Characters)((by Artificial Intelligence))," was held from May 27 to August 4, 2024, as the 15th-anniversary celebration of Kanazawa Art Gummi. This project involves faithfully constructing  physical versions of instruments designed by AI, interpreting the playing methods suitable for these  instruments, and drawing music from them.
