The first full-length of this heavily active live unit from Providence, RI. There is no solid footing in shallow waters. Only a suffocating hail of falling rock, strangling vines, and sinkholes. It is with rare exception that voice spits the last of breaths, the dying breaths, with such spite. Like a rabbit trapped in the hole of the snake's throat, this duo comprised of members of Immaculate:Grotesque and Em Dath Rir batter and tear their way through six tracks of power electronics eco-fallout …
New solo LP of strange sounds, vocal improvisations, tape manipulations mangled strings and hiss drones from Dylan Nyoukis (Decaer Pinga,Blood Stereo) Inside his Wino Lodge. Sounds like it was recorded in a 4 track in 1972 in an insane asylum, then puked over and thrown into the sea, then discovered recently and transfer directly to Vinyl via marine analog tape communication device (thats a compliment).Good one to buy if you are wondering what a naked Scotish man and his daughter look and sound …
Sometimes sounds like Borbetomagus playing in the middle of a storm, sometimes sounds like being in the middle of a bombing in Palestine. A Picture of this record should be next to every definition of noise music. Lasse Marhaug plays in Jazkamer and has at least 300 other great projects solo and with other people. Dror Feiler served as a paratrooper in the Israel Defense Forces, and refused to serve in the occupied territories in the early 70's. He is now a Swedish-Israeli musician and artist an…
Hyperrealism is an electroacoustic musical language constructed from sounds that are found in our shared environment ('realism'), handled in ways that are somehow exaggerated or excessive ('hyper'). Fundamental to hyperrealism is the expansion of the sound palettes from which music is made. Developments in technology and transformations in social and economic realities have made it possible for composers to incorporate the sounds of the entire world into their music. Essential to the concept of …
Reissue of this obscure Canadian album from 1975, originally issued on the A.R.C. Record label, with extended mixes and bonus material from the same period. Performed by David Rosenboom and J. B. Floyd (pianos, one in each channel) & Trichy Sankaran on South Indian percussion (mrdangam and kanjira). On April 19th, 1975, at Northern Illinois University, three musicians met in a milestone event from which emerged a unique, improvising trio with two pianos and South Indian percussion. Fortunately, …

JD Emmanuel's privately-pressed 1979 album Wizards accumulated a cult following through the early part of this decade, culminating with a vinyl reissue by Bread and Animals in 2006, which quickly sold out. Influenced by the organ works of Terry Riley and the kosmische school of Krautrock, and rendered with a uniquely personal warmth, Emmanuel's work stands out as something singular in the world of early basement electronics. Solid Dawn collects material from long out-of-print tapes, remastered f…

These sample-based constructions incorporated sounds from free-jazz, new electronic-generated sounds, classical modernism & vintage geographical recordings. Discordant segments of wailing, top-end violins give way to clunking rhythmic passages of metal marimbas & tuned percussion; free-roaming passages of rasping, low-end bass & the shuffle of free-jazz recall the work of Prestige-era Moondog, as well as aspects of Harry Partch's instrumentation via mid- to latter-day period Tom Waits. Atonal am…
A project of Italian sound/installation artist PIETRO RIPARBELLI that deals with the world of radio signals, trans-communication & other invisible phenomena, to create a dimension where the only sound sources are signals from shortwave radio receivers. An instrumental trans-communication action wth the short wave radio receivers realized inside Thelema Abbey. Enhanced CD comes with a short film and a digipak with 32 page booklet with pictures & stills from the film.
Touch releases an album by UK experimental musician Robert Hampson. Before his involvement with acousmatic sound, Hampson was the originator behind such guitar-based acts such as Loop and Main. He was also a member of Godflesh, and collaborated with Jim O'Rourke and Organum. Vectors features three pieces, two of which were commissioned by the Group du Recherches Musicales (GRM) which had their debut performances on the Acousmonium in Paris. "Umbra" (2006) is a 16-channel piece that had its d…
Sounding as current as any of the recent output from France's Ed Banger, Kitsune or Institubes labels, and on influential blueprint for the evolution of the French electronic music genre at large, the majority of the performers featured on B.I.P.P.P. never made it beyond limited DIY pressings of 500 or 1000 copies of 7" vinyl singles.
1st live album by Norway's Geir Jenssen - recorded in 2007 by Chris Watson & mastered by Touch stalwart BJNilsen. In the early 1990s, he was a pioneer of so-called "ambient techno," but since then, he has refined his sound into something more magnetic & enduring. Here, he incorporates samples of field recordings by Jony Easterby & trumpet by Anders Karlskas, invoking a sparser, more arresting sound.
This is the first proper vinyl release for Tim Hecker's breakthrough 2006 album. At the time of original issue, there was a small run of a few hundred vinyl copies done by a small German label, but this was pressed on an inferior sounding single LP which was much too short for the length of the album, not to mention the wide dynamic range of the recording. This new version is mastered at 45rpm over four sides for maximum sound quality. Full color gatefold sleeve.
This is the limited friends edition of 50 copies in red box with silver printing incl. LP-size Booklet and a 7inch. Both LP's and 7" are clear vinyl. 1 copy available only. "Lest We Forget" is a collection compiled from the earliest recordings by Nocturnal Emissions, a group founded by Nigel Ayers, his brother Daniel Ayers and Caroline K in 1980. His first solo album, Off Light finds Scott Goodwin (known for his work as part of trio Bonus), exploring the microtones associated with overlapping sine wave oscillations. 'Off Light' and its accompanying piece 'Arc' both focus on the very subtle interplay and morphing interactions of these fundamental waveforms, taking on a level of meditative discipline that's sure to require a good deal of patience and concentration both on the part of Goodwin and the listener. Minimal as it may be there's u…
Table of the Elements continues to celebrate its 15th anniversary with the tenth installment in its Guitar Series Vols. 3 & 4. It’s a 12xLP romp of deviant fretnoise by some of experimental music’s most prominent players, including Christian Fennesz, Thurston Moore, and Sunn O)))’s Stephen O’Malley. Sunn O))) founder Stephen O’Malley summons a mesmerizing drone, absorbing the listener into an aural tar pit of deep, inexorable oblivion. He wears a cloak of post-metal allegiances with behemoths li…
After several hugely impressive concerts, where the visuals from Kurt D\\'Haeseleer are almost as important as the music, Guillaume Graux or Tuk comes up with a first cd. \\'Proud Princess of a Brand New City\\' contains mostly finished versions of the tracks he used the first three years at his live performances. The main sources on the cd are guitars, most of them so heavily treated that you barely hear it\\'s a guitar. Even if it\\'s only a beat, it might be guitar. You never know on this rec…
S*CKMYP drops the spectator in a world continuously bombarded with digital fragmentation bombs. People wander through a kaleidoscopic labyrinth of trembling bodies and mutating buildings until they are swallowed by a yawning void. Lost pixels nestle like parasites under the skin and drag them through an everyday world that looks strange beyond recognition. THe film is a feverish dream, the loot of a nightly raid on suburban districts and new housing estates. A collection of the stolen dreams, fe…
