The trio Gaudenz Badrutt (electronics), Jean-Luc Guionnet (alto saxophone) and Frantz Loriot (viola) met for the first time at the Biel/Bienne-based “Joyful Noise” encounters in December 2018. Very quickly, the three agreed on a formal and sonic understanding, giving the trio a distinctive sound, combining and interweaving different sonic aesthetics, from electroacoustic to acoustic improvised music.
In February 2020, the trio continued its musical journey for a residency at Instants Chavirés i…
*2025 stock* In 2013, the collaboration of electronic musician Gaudenz Badrutt and saxophonist Ilia Belorukov began in a trio with accordionist Jonas Kocher, and in 2014 the album Rotonda was released on Intonema. Since then, time has passed, Badrutt and Belorukov have toured also as a duo, Belorukov later switching to a modular synthesizer.
In March 2019 in Biel/Bienne, the duo fruitfully worked in a new context, looking for fresh ways to interact, not only with each other, but also between ele…
*2025 stock* "The CD surprised me because it could be listened to with many ears. At first I felt I could not separate it from contemporary composed music, soon after that I could still place it in the context of contemporary improvised music, and finally the fantasticness of a journey that takes the best both worlds have to offer revealed itself to me. Much of the merit can be attributed to the sensible arrangement of the four movements, which, despite being at least superficially similar proce…
Ambient explorers SWIMS unpeel another heady debut, with the maiden effort by Korean artist Soo Kyung Kim, also known as soo:k. The curtain raises on Orchadia with an elysian glow: electro-acoustic compositions painting a golden topography of impossible fruit and uncanny astronomy. soo:k's utopic brushwork finds obvious comparisons in the work of Hiroshi Yoshimura, and his meditations on the glacial pace of hidden, verdant spaces. Frida Kahlo's portraits of everyday life, intertwined with pain a…
In our digital age, every Captcha solved reduces our existence to data points. Every click fuels a shadow economy, stripping away genuine connection and trapping us in endless metrics. We must reclaim authentic human experience.
Following Dirk Serries’ recent albums the composer continues to explore different sonic terrain. Still on the electric guitar with a motherboard of analog pedals, the 4 tracks on Zonal Disturbances II start to give signs of a new signature style of ambience Dirk is constructing. Organic, brooding and eerie. All recorded live on the spot creating music that still showcases the artist’s fondness for minimalism and slow repetitive clusters of sound while tying connections with his roots in industri…
Sediment is an assemblage of field recordings made in the Swiss canton of Jura on a single day in August 2022. Jura's rock and limestone formations create a complex topology which hosts a diversity of sound spaces; human, more-than-human, geophonic, subterranean and extra-terrestrial. By walking and driving through this landscape curious pockets of activity are revealed to the listener. The layers of strata that make up Jura; earth, rock, forest, cables, pipes, factories, planes and radio towers…
*200 copies limited edition* Francisco Meirino's The Mute Fortress plays with the time and space of its sound materials. He expands, unfolds and unwinds the ghostly voices that circulate in a jigsaw puzzle of sequences that the mind assembles as it sees fit.
*100 copies limited edition* Quality label Raw Tonk Records never shies away from a challenge and this release is no exception. A gathering of three wilful musical characters in the beautiful resonance of the Oude Klooster chapel in Brecht (Belgium). Guitarists Luis Lopes (Portugal) and Dirk Serries (Belgium) and pianist Martina Verhoeven (Belgium), this time on the electric piano, creating a nightmare-ish live soundtrack to a fictional David Cronenberg movie. From a calm jazzy opener to dense…

*150 copies limited edition* Drawing on decades of musical studies (Indian classical music, archaic Appalachian fiddle music, Microtonality, and early electronic experimentation), David Wunder Brägger has woven together a minimalist and analog-driven “séance” of sounds through his uniquely assembled electronic devices and acoustic drone makers. The results are epic, strange, calming, and wondrous. An immersive and stunningly beautiful cosmic bath of sound, DW Bragger’s “The Saraswati Dreamcraft”…
2025 Repress Every song on this album taps into raw, rich veins of sound that are simultaneously dense but easy to enjoy; vintage and modern; new yet timeless. The album kicks off with a monster track entitled "Stratton-Eustis" - one of those complex yet flowing tunes that makes you think overdubs were involved or the player has grown an extra set of limbs. Then there's "Kenduskeag,” a raga-esque group recording in an abandoned New England Conservatory building with Ethan WL and the long standin…

Now, 577 Records is ecstatic to present her latest work of art, What About the Butterfly, a technical masterpiece born from the depths of this vocalist/pianist/composer’s bea…
2025 Stock. Last copies. Annelies Monseré always has had the urge to record many versions of one song and then remaining deeply in doubt which version to choose. For this release, she did not chose. (Though this is not completely true - there are still more versions of the song - including an a cappella version) She was interested in how different arrangements, tempo's, melodies and structures changed the expressive and aesthetic qualities of the song, convinced that no version is more 'essentia…
