Basma is a French-Moroccan singer who writes and sings stories in Moroccan Darija, exploring the links between her heritage and her most intimate spaces. Temir Alcy is a trio formed by Enir Da (co-founder of Dali Muru & The Polyphonic Swarm), multi-instrumentalist Charles Lmx and Lucas Valero, moving between ambient, leftfield and experimental folk, with acoustic instruments, electronic processing and hypnotic rhythms woven together. As a quartet they make what they call music of thresholds, between night and dawn, between what fades and what remains.
NAD (ناض) is a journey through loss and rebirth: the days after the death of a close friend, the attempts to mend a broken love, the anxiety and the body that aches with memories, and then, slowly, the breath coming back, support found in unexpected places, memories surfacing through hypnotic whispers. Not a story of instant healing, but a fragile awakening and a learning to love differently.
Eleven songs, with Samuel Benveniste on saxophone in 'Cha3ouka', additional voices by Enir Da and Liv Suzanne, field recordings by Rachid Otmani and a final youyou by Houria Sefrioui Otmani, who also translated and proofread the Darija lyrics. Mixed by Roman Hiele, mastered by Matthieu Savenay, artwork by Victor Verhelst. Released by the Belgian label Stroom.
