Saraba Uchū Senkan Yamato (1978), the feature film that was supposed to end the story and instead made it a phenomenon, has Hiroshi Miyagawa expanding his palette: a love theme, a requiem, the Teresa melody, with an orchestra that could match the Hollywood scores it was competing against. The Italian-titled Arrivederci Yamato on the sleeve is how the film was marketed abroad.
