*2023 stock. 200 copies limited edition* Masahiko Okura is a Tokyo-based reed player (clarinet, alto sax, etc.), improviser and composer. Apart from his performances on reed instruments, he is energetically engaged in performance activities with his solo project Active Recovering Music. Okura is also a member of the experimental music group Suidobashi Chamber Ensemble.

In 2004, Okura released the solo album "Time Service" on the Improvised Music from Japan label. The highly original performance utilizing alto sax, bass clarinet and tube caused a stir both in Japan and overseas. Strangely enough, Okura had not released another solo album since. In 2019, Okura released a cassette tape of clarinet and contrabass clarinet solos on his own label, No Schools Recordings. Now, in 2022, his first solo CD release in 18 years is finally here. Each of the five tracks on "CTX1" is an improvisational performance on one type of clarinet—conventional clarinet on two tracks, bass clarinet on one, and contrabass clarinet on two. This long-awaited CD is a rare opportunity to savor Okura’s one-of-a-kind musicianship to the fullest!
