* Edition of 36 * Time for a new quite limited Die Schachtel edition, a very special deluxe box that contains five LP releases sold out since long (two by Teresa Rampazzi and one each by Gruppo NPS, Mario Bertoncini, and Arke Sinth) in addition to a brand new album, “Musica Elettronica / Computer Music 1966-1972” by SMET Studio di Musica Elettronica di Torino. Originally issued in 1972, this stunning artefact soon turned into one of the most rare and sought after Italian electronic LPs of its era. Carefully remastered, this collection now features three previously unreleased extra tracks.

The “Silver series”, which still continues today, was the starting point of all the Die Schachtel editions. Consisting of limited edition LPs, it is mainly dedicated to the documentation of archival and unreleased material from the most interesting (and often unknown) names of both the electronic avant-garde music and the sound-art scene, of the 1960-1980 period.

The Italian early electronic music scene has been at the core of the label’s activity since their very beginnings in the early 2000s. The record that inaugurated the label’s venture was Pietro Grossi’s “Musica Automatica” (2003), followed in 2004 by the very first recording in LP format by Enore Zaffiri, founder of SMET - Turin’s Electronic Music Studio - in 1966.

Many names, from the widely celebrated ones (Luigi Nono, Bruno Maderna) to the totally obscure - yet worth all the attention of their better known collagues - (Franca Sacchi, Arke Sinth, Teresa Rampazzi, Marino Zuccheri, etc.) have been informing the celebrated “Silver series” of the Milanese label, that today “returns” on the topic with a long-due novelty (“Musica Elettronica / Computer Music 1966-1972”) and “E 2” an ultra-limited (36 copies only) boxed collection of new-found factory sealed original copies of long OOP titles that include the following:
