The legacy of Afro-Futurist jazz pioneer Sun Ra continues with a first ever vinyl issue of fan favourite "Everything Is Space," on limited 7” vinyl.

Recorded during the sessions for 1989’s album Blue Delight, "Everything Is Space" ranks among Sun Ra’s funkiest tracks. Although it shares lyrics with an earlier Ra cut, the dark and ominous "There Is Change In The Air," "Everything Is Space" is fierce and lively, sounding like the Arkestra channeling the Last Poets.

Its message is classic Ra, seemingly paradoxical with his trademark wit and humor: “Silence is music too.” As if to drive home this point, the track was unexpectedly cut short due to the recording tape running out. We can only assume that this abrupt ending forbid its inclusion on Blue Delight, but since it fits the theme so well we have included it here in its original and unedited form.

On the B-side we have included another outtake, first time on vinyl. Recorded during the Purple Night album sessions, the track showcases the Arkestra in swinging big-band blast. It features longtime Arkestra mainstays Marshall Allen, John Gilmore and Danny Ray Thompson along with Don Cherry on trumpet. The original 11 minute plus track was skillfully edited for 7” format.

We are proud to present these gems where they belongs: permanently in your record bag, bringing joy, confusion and wonder to any party where you dare to play it. Fully licensed from Sun Ra LLC, with risograph cover featuring artwork by former Arkestra member Ayé Aton, who after leaving Sun Ra's orbit had a lengthy career as a fine artist.
