1983 LP on CP² Recordings with the demanding late 1970's studies for solo violin performed by by their dedicatee Paul Zukofsky.

condition (record/cover): NM / EX+

The Freeman Etudes are among the most demanding works in the solo violin repertoire - written for Paul Zukofsky, composed by John Cage using chance operations applied to star charts, notating an extreme density of simultaneous events that pushes the boundary between what is theoretically possible and what is practically achievable. Cage described them as a statement about the relationship between freedom and discipline: nothing is impossible, only difficult. The first eight of the eventual thirty-two etudes, documented on CP² Recordings.
