Richard Pinhas has been at the forefront of new rock music in France since the early 1970s, when he founded the band Heldon. Heldon was one of the first bands to meld rock music and electronics, releasing a number of 'classic' albums during the 1970s. He has long been recognized as a pivotal figure in the development of electronic rock music. His stature in France is roughly analogous to that of Tangerine Dream in Germany: the father figure of an entire musical movement. Iceland was Richard's third solo album and the first one to be released after the demise of Heldon.
Cat. number: CD 14236
Year: 1991
Originally released on LP by Polydor (France) in 1979. Track 9 is a bonus track. Recorded at the Heldon Electronic Studio and Ramsès Studio, Paris in 1979, except track 9 recorded live in Paris, France. Remixed at Davout except "Iceland" remixed at Ramsès Studio. Special thanks to our friends from Laser Trapeze and Ramsès Studio, to Francis "Yellow" Gernet and Frederic Quillet. While the front and back cover, as well as disc face all read Richard Pinhas, the spine reads Heldon.
