Les Disques Omnison announces the release of Meditate & Destroy, the long-awaited debut LP by Leandro Barzabal and Céleste Gatier, a duo that has been making waves in experimental circles across France and Argentina. Following stunning live performances throughout France and a successful tour in Argentina alongside French noise musicians Cigve (Catherine Guesde) and Vomir (Romain Perrot), Barzabal and Gatier have distilled their confrontational live energy into six untitled electroacoustic compositions that explore the fundamental ambivalency between meditating and destroying.

Each untitled piece unfolds according to its own internal logic, moving between the crushing intensity associated with Kevin Drumm's most confrontational work and the delicate precision of Toshimaru Nakamura's reductionist approach amd no-input mixing board explorations, refusing easy categorization while maintaining a coherent aesthetic vision. The album's title captures the paradox at the heart of their practice - the way extreme sonic experiences can simultaneously induce states of deep contemplation and complete dissolution. These aren't compositions that choose sides; instead, they inhabit the liminal space where destruction becomes a form of meditation, where chaos reveals its own peculiar order. Working with electroacoustic techniques that blur the boundaries between acoustic and electronic sources, the duo creates dense sonic environments that shift between moments of relative calm and eruptions of overwhelming intensity. Each untitled piece unfolds according to its own internal logic, refusing easy categorization while maintaining a coherent aesthetic vision.

Recorded by the duo themselves and mastered by Alan Briand, Meditate & Destroy benefits from a production approach that preserves the raw immediacy of their live performances while revealing subtle details that emerge through careful listening. The artwork, created collaboratively by Barzabal, Gatier, and Tom Val, reflects the album's exploration of dualities.
