200 copies. Les Disques Omnison is thrilled to announce the vinyl release of The Window by HWYUIOD, a mysterious project that has been quietly building a devoted following through digital channels and word-of-mouth in underground experimental circles. The Window represents a singular vision of ambient drift and processed sound that exists somewhere between the meditative expanses of Éliane Radigue , the expansive minimalism of early Kranky releases (Labradford, Stars of the Lid), and the textural explorations of contemporary electronic artists pushing into uncharted sonic territories.
The trio of Tom Val (voice, flute, tape, fx and drone synth), Alan Briand (bass, synth, electric piano, drums), and Thomas Riguelle (guitar, drums, percussions) create an idiom of the edges where slacker rock and slow-core invite themselves into experimental lore. Their approach strips away conventional song structures in favor of slowly evolving sound environments that breathe and shift with organic logic. Maximilien "Oedipe Purple" Douche captures the project's essence perfectly in his liner notes: "HWYUIOD?! Here's where you understand it's only dreaming... Ears fed on electronic hypnosis records, shoegaze lava flows, free music or anything solid that the avant-garde can offer, the amalgam is inevitably fruitful in dementia... beyond the magnificent kraut-racket, the impression of hearing a Turkish version of Fugazi imposes itself, with the ghost of Don Cherry not far away."
Recorded between London and Paris, with overdubs, mix and mastering at Studio 121, The Window unfolds across two sides of carefully mastered vinyl. Each piece flows seamlessly into the next while maintaining its own distinct character, revealing subtle details that reward deep listening. A crucial document of contemporary experimental music where "all kinds of exciting music coagulate."
