Eugenio Colombo is the only musician on this 1987 Splasc(h) LP, and he opens it with George Gershwin: a two-minute Summertime on alto and soprano saxophone. The rest is mostly his own solo writing, with soprano, baritone saxophone and flute taking turns.
There is one more standard, Charles Mingus's Goodbye Pork Pie Hat on soprano. Elsewhere Colombo writes for single instruments with dry titles: La Ragione Delle Balene for baritone, Problemi Di Equilibrio at eight and a half minutes on soprano, Prima Che Il Gallo Canti for flute. The Roman saxophonist was already part of the Italian free scene that would form the Italian Instabile Orchestra a few years later.
