Sole edition of the 1988 album on Splasc(h) of contemporary jazz by the Italian septet led by Alfonso Riccò and Romolo Grande. Never re-issued on either LP or CD.

condition (record/cover): NM / NM

The saxophonist Alfonso Riccò wrote all of side one; side two is called Standardhibernation and does what it says: Cherokee, C Jam Blues and Art Pepper's Miss Who? run together as a medley, followed by Sweet Georgia Brown. The titles on the other side, Automation 3, Automation 5, Codification and Decodification, point somewhere far less cosy.

The New Emily Jazz Orchestra is a septet from Emilia: Riccò on soprano and tenor saxophone and bass clarinet, Erio Vaccari on alto and baritone saxophone and clarinet, Mario Gazzi on cornet, Paolo Panzani on piano and xylophone, Marcello Franchini on guitar and banjo, Romolo Grande on electric bass and as arranger, and Bruno Franchini on drums and flute. They recorded it at BMS Studios in Castelfranco Emilia from 7 to 11 March 1988, for Splasc(h).
