2004 LP on Qbico of improvisations for electronics, objects and saxophones by Steve Beresford with John Butcher and Richard Sanderson, recorded in London in 2000 and 2003.

condition (record/cover): EX / VG (2” tear on front and minimal edge wear)

Every title on side one is a bat. Egyptian Fruit, Tent-Making, Noctule and Mexican Fruit name four species, and the joke is typical of Steve Beresford, who has spent decades treating toy instruments and cheap gadgets as serious tools of free improvisation. Here he plays electronics and objects with Richard Sanderson, who works the same territory, while John Butcher plays tenor and soprano saxophone and also recorded and mastered the album.

Side one was taped at The Red Rose in Finsbury Park on 7 April 2003. The title piece on side two is older, from 23 August 2000, and comes from the church of St Michael and All Angels at Turnham Green, so the record moves from a north London club to a west London nave. Qbico issued it in 2004 with a cover borrowed from Marcel Duchamp.
