On Buenos Antwerp, Elko Blijweert and Anla Courtis turn a chance Borgerhout encounter into a two‑part psychedelic correspondence, one acoustic, one electric, a cross‑Atlantic guitar séance wrapped in Dennis Tyfus’ cut‑and‑paste visual delirium.

*100 copies limited edition, One sided LP, Comes with a 8 page LP size book of collages made by Dennis Tyfus.* Buenos Antwerp starts in a basement that feels slightly illegal even when it isn’t. Almost exactly a year ago, Argentinian psychedelic explorer Anla Courtis - founding member of Reynols - and Belgian guitar shapeshifter Elko Blijweert shared a bill at 242hz, a young Borgerhout venue that doubles as a social space for homeless people and a pressure cooker for underground music. The room’s “Barabas‑adjacent” energy is part DIY club, part shelter, part laboratory: most nights end with unexpected improv line‑ups and the sense that something unrepeatable has just happened. On that night, the two guitarists closed their solo sets by colliding in a spontaneous duo jam, discovering an instant rapport somewhere between damaged lyricism, drone, and ecstatic noise.

Instead of leaving it as a one‑off, they carried the connection into the ether. Staying in touch across continents, Blijweert and Courtis began exchanging ideas and recordings, letting their guitars meet again “over the inner net waves.” The result is Buenos Antwerp, a one‑sided LP containing two long, magical psychedelic pieces: one acoustic, one electric. The acoustic side leans into wood, air and string, all creaks, harmonics and slowly unfurling motifs that feel like folk music stretched through a funhouse mirror. The electric counterpart pushes into more hallucinatory terrain: overtones blooming, tones smeared and bent, lines twisting around each other until they become a single, shimmering current. Together they map a dialogue that’s equal parts tenderness and delirium, grounded in the physicality of fingers on strings even as it drifts far out.

The record’s physical form matches the music’s collaged, borderless spirit. Each copy comes with a sticker and an eight‑page, LP‑sized booklet of collages by Dennis Tyfus, whose visual anarchy spins the project’s Argentine–Antwerp axis into a riot of cut paper and misaligned imagery. Buenos Antwerp is less a tidy collaboration than a small, self‑contained world: a basement meeting remembered, reworked at a distance, and pressed into vinyl as a document of two guitarists finding a shared psychedelic language in the crackle between here and elsewhere.
