File under avantgarde, free-spirited, and creative music from the Italian Progressive scene
See allThe Prog Rock Italia Series continues with the reissue of Finest Finger, the fourth album by Sensations’ Fix, a musical project led by Franco Falsini of Tuscany, an eclectic musician constantly focused on exploration and electronic experimentation. The band immediately stands out for the international scope of its compositions, not only for the use of the English language but above all for its continuous musical exploration: Sensations’ Fix distinguishes itself on the Italian progressive scene through the unique musical style conceived by Falsini, who loves the electronic sounds of German bands, experiments with keyboards and synthesizers, and adds electronic effects and spacey guitars.
Finest Finger was released in 1976 following the three albums released in 1974: Fragments Of Light, Sensations’ Fix (a promotional record featuring the band’s name misspelled), and Portable Madness, considered by many to be the group’s true debut. The eight tracks on Finest Finger also mark a decisive shift, featuring more elaborate vocals and delicate acoustic guitar atmospheres that intertwine with the usual electronic textures and cosmic effects. This time, Sensations’ Fix’s space-prog veers decisively toward more accessible sounds: it is a stylistic choice that preserves the band’s musical essence while simultaneously marking an excellent evolution in their sound.
