Lovely 1986 double album on Impetus with recordings spanning from 1980 to 1985 by the eclectic and inimitable saxophone player, featuring Mike Cooper and Roger Turner among others. Never re-issued on either LP or CD. With insert.

condition (record/cover): NM / NM

Gatefold sleeve. Insert included.

Two tracks on this double album last half a second each. Clapperboard opens side one, Edited Half Handclap opens side two, and the same set also makes room for a twenty-eight-minute improvisation. Lol Coxhill assembled it from music he wrote for Frog Dance, a film by Richard White funded by the Arts Council of Great Britain, and added recordings he had made between 1980 and 1985; Impetus issued the result in 1986.

His soprano saxophone keeps very different company from track to track. The Johnny Rondo Trio, with David Holland on piano and Colin Wood on cello, plays the title piece; a small string group conducted by Charles Barber backs Confidential Report (Including Personal Statement); the residents of the London Zoo birdhouse get twelve seconds of their own. Steve Miller of Delivery plays piano on the twenty-five-minute Chance Including Chocolate Field, and the fourth side belongs to The Recedents, Coxhill's trio with Mike Cooper on guitar and Roger Turner on percussion.
