1969 Japanese easy-listening compilation on Decca with beautiful glamour cover.

condition (record/cover): NM / NM

Gatefold sleeve with poster glued inside.

American Decca's back catalogue rearranged for Japan: Brenda Lee, Earl Grant, Sammy Kaye, Guy Lombardo, Gordon Jenkins, the Universal-International Orchestra, one track each, packaged as volume six of a mood series. What the Japanese compilers did was ignore the American categories (country, sweet band, film score, R&B) and file it all under the same heading, which produces a strange and pleasant flattening.

Earl Grant's organ next to Lombardo's saxophones next to Brenda Lee's voice: American popular music as it might sound from a very great distance. Japanese Decca (SK prefix).
