**Edition of 200 copies, in process of stocking** Mutual admirers of each other’s work, these titans of Scottish and French dronefolk team up for a split LP, with two tracks by Pefkin and three by Roxane Métayer. The fact that these like-minded artists explore the boundaries of what connects them, makes it a very exciting release. The Pefkin side is Gayle at her most melodic, whereas Roxane goes down a poetic and rhythmical path. Dream combo. The album is pressed on high-quality german vinyl, in a full colour sleeve, complete with download coupon.

Pefkin is the alter ego of Gayle Brogan, Ayrshire-based creator of slowly-unfolding, ritualistic hymnals that draw heavily on the landscape and natural world. Gayle has been a key figure in the experimental music scene since the mid nineties. She first gained recognition as one half of the remarkable duo Electroscope, mixing psychedelic pop, lofi, drones and folk. When Electroscope went on hiatus in 2000, Gayle picked up the name Pefkin, and continued on the same path, though the music shifted a bit more towards freeform folk and longer drone pieces. In the past decade, we’ve been fortunate enough to release three of her albums on morc – on those last couple of records, she proves she’s the rare kind of artist that actually still gets better and better, decades far in her career. A true force of nature.

Born in France and currently residing in Brussels, Roxane Métayer is truly a multidisciplinary artist. Learning the violin at a young age, she also developed herself as a visual artist, creating drawings, sculptures in uncommon materials as soap, and in recent years video. Her work as a musician is of an equally spontaneous nature. She debuted in 2021 on morc with the album "Éclipse des ocelles", to overwhelming positive response, and a series of live-shows in which she easily met all expectations.
