A Swiss double album of European bird song, Elite Special being the Zurich budget label that also issued yodelling and brass bands, which places this record precisely: birds as Heimat, the acoustic equivalent of a painted alpine landscape. Two discs allow for a more leisurely pace than the German single LPs, with longer uninterrupted stretches and less narration.
For the ambient listener it is the best of the birdsong set here, because it lets the environment breathe. Swiss pressing, VLP series.
