Sokushinbutsu Project, the duo formed by Massimo Mascheroni (ODRZ) and Enrico Ponzoni, brings their esoteric ambient/post-industrial research into unexplored territories through dialogue with Enkil, an enigmatic figure from the underground electronic scene who has already demonstrated versatility in previous works for the Swiss label.

The Sokushinbutsu project, inspired by the ancient Buddhist ritual of Japanese monks' self-mummification, finds an additional dimension here: the recorded sessions evoke ritualistic atmospheres where synthesizers, samplers and magnetic tapes construct sonic architectures oscillating between deep meditation and industrial tension. Enkil's approach adds layers of granular electronics and noise textures that amplify the darker, more introspective aspect of the work, creating a piece that fits perfectly within the experimental and uncompromising aesthetic characterizing Luce Sia productions.
